Little League International oversees a global network of officially chartered leagues and sets uniform standards for participation in youth baseball and softball. Little League Baseball and Softball are also officially recognized by Major League Baseball.
This affiliation provides access to sanctioned tournament play, All-Star team advancement, and a clearly defined pathway to regional, national, and Little League World Series competition in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and Greenville, North Carolina.
As an officially chartered Little League International program, we operate within a nationally governed system recognized and supported by Major League Baseball and Minor League Baseball initiatives. Participation in district, state, regional, and World Series advancement opportunities is available only through officially chartered Little League International programs.
The Little League International structure emphasizes age-appropriate development, nationally standardized rules, verified background checks, insurance coverage, and consistent safety protocols across all levels of play.
While city recreation leagues provide valuable local programming, they operate independently and are not part of the Little League International system. Pioneer Valley Little League is distinct in that we follow the governance, advancement pathway, and national standards established by Little League International.
This recognition reflects a long-standing relationship focused on youth development, safety initiatives, and the growth of the game at the community level.
Through this partnership, Major League Baseball supports Little League programs nationwide through educational resources, support, and community-based initiatives.
While many youth baseball leagues offer valuable opportunities for participation and recreation, the affiliation with Little League International provides a nationally governed framework that connects local communities to a broader, globally recognized system.
This structure offers families consistency, accountability, and access to advancement opportunities that extend beyond local play while maintaining a strong focus on sportsmanship, teamwork, and character development.
Through its charter with Little League International, Pioneer Valley Little League is committed to providing a trusted, recognized, and development-focused youth baseball and softball experience that aligns local participation with national standards and long-term opportunities.

About Us
The name Pioneer Valley honors the Goshen Valley pioneers who engineered irrigation systems and built thriving agricultural communities from open land. Their cooperative spirit laid the foundation for this region. Our league carries that name because we are building structured youth opportunity in the same place where earlier generations built the valley itself.
We represent small towns across Utah County and Juab County. Individually, each community is modest in size, but collectively they form a strong and capable region. By bringing these towns together under one Little League International program, we create a unified league presence built on shared commitment, regional pride, and long-term youth development.
Pioneer Valley Little League is led by experienced educators and built on a strong foundation of baseball tradition. Our League President holds a Master’s degree in Elementary Education and serves as a vice principal at a local school, and our Secretary/Treasurer holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Their professional backgrounds reinforce our unwavering commitment to putting kids first in everything we do.
The league’s roots are also grounded in meaningful baseball history. In prior league development efforts, we worked alongside Lou D’Angelo, a former New York Dodgers scout and lifelong youth sports advocate. He was instrumental in expanding opportunities within Little League, including helping advance the inclusion of girls in league play. His dedication to access, development, and the integrity of the game continues to influence the standards we uphold today.
At Pioneer Valley Little League, education, opportunity, and character development remain at the core of our mission — with the kids always coming first.
